The Omiš Riviera is also well known for long sandy beaches, especially between Omiš and Dugi Rat. One of the best known beaches in Omiš is next to the small place Duće, which is mainly focused on tourism. It's a great beach about 5 miles long accompanied by sand pines and tamarisk. The town of Omiš has its own public beach about a mile long, where you can find several restaurants, cafes and shops. It is especially ideal for families with children. Another fairly popular beach in Omiš is Stanići beach, which is beautiful, quiet and with a mixture of sand and tiny pebbles with shallow water, which makes it ideal for younger and older children. It is definitely a place for families. The same applies to the beaches in Ruskamen, where you can go by bus and stay in some resorts surrounded by large pine forests and a long beach.
Medići beach is quite small and is situated in the heart of the Omiš Riviera. It is also very quiet and ideal for those who are looking for a place to rest and relax. The hospitality of the people of the nearby town will make you want to go back as soon as you leave. When it comes to accommodation, you have to opt for private homes or apartments in Medići. There are several good restaurants to try the typical food of the area. In the village of Mimice you can visit a small harbour with beach, located about 10 kilometres south of Omiš. It is one of the pearls of Omiš Riviera and has a long tradition of tourism. The occupation of its inhabitants is mainly fishing, farming and tourism, of course. There are several coves with beautiful beaches where you can spend the day.
Another place that you can visit is the town of Marušići, located 15 kilometres from the town of Omiš. There are several good beaches for the whole family to play and sunbathe. To end the tour, you can visit a settlement called Pisak, located a few kilometres south of Omiš, with high concentration of tourism. Pisak is situated in a bay and has a few beaches, some sandy and others rocky. Here tourists come mainly to surf or dive. You can rent boats on the beach itself. There are great restaurants in the area, ideal for tasting the Croatian and Mediterranean food. The most common way to reach the beaches of Omiš is from Split, and it is a very good alternative if you are in this region and we want to change some setting. Omiš is located right at the mouth of the Cetina River and it is a popular place for rafting.
